Eric Smith, 13 years old
- Tiffany Long was abducted and killed in October 1998 by three people she knew; Dorthia and two boys, Joseph and Harold Jones aged 15 and 17.
- After being abducted Tiffany was held down, raped, choked with a coaxial cable, and then beaten with a bed rail.
- Her body was discovered behind a vacant house where Dorthia and the two boys had once lived.
- The two boys were also being tried for the kidnapping, sodomy, and beating death.
- Dorthia agreed to testify against the boys as part of a plea bargain and plead guilty.
- The plea Bargain meant she couldn't face the death penalty.
- Sentenced to a minimum 124-years prison on February 14, 2000
Christine Marie Paolilla, 17 years old
- Christine Paolilla was convicted of shooting four of her friends to death on July 18, 2003 in what became known as the Clear Lake murders.
- Christine and her then-boyfriend, 21 year-old Christopher Lee Snider reportedly committed the crime together.
- Three years went by before her arrest was made through an anonymous tip to the police.
- Her then husband, Justin Rott told police that Christine had confessed to him that she had been an active participant in the murders stating that she had gone back into the house and beat Rachael to death with a gun.
- In October of 2009 she was sentenced to life in prison for her crime and she will be eligible for parole in 2046.
Sarah Marie Johnson, 16 years old
- Diane and Alan Johnson were found dead in their bedroom on Sept. 2, 2003.
- Diane was still under the covers, dead from a gunshot to the head.
- Alan lay dead on the floor, still wet from the shower, next to the bed from a gunshot wound to the chest.
- Prosecutors claimed Sarah hatched a plot, while the tenant who rented the guest house above the family's garage was away for the weekend, she would use his gun to shoot her parents.
- The only motive known is that her parents wouldn't let her date 19-year old Bruno Santos who was an undocumented Mexican immigrant.
- She was sentenced two concurrent life terms plus fifteen years for a firearm enhancement.
John Katehis, 16 years old
- In March 2009, John placed an ad on Craigslist offering sex for money.
- George Weber, an ABC News Radio reporter responded to his ad and they agreed on a fee of $60 for rough sex.
- The rough sex was supposed to consist of George being bound and suffocated while John performed oral sex on him.
- John says he was given alcohol and cocaine and when the rough sex started things didn’t go as planned.
- John claimed George pulled a knife and he had to defend himself so he stabbed George in the neck.
- John changed into some of George’s clothing and attempted to board a train but the conductor called police because John was bleeding, he was taken to the hospital and released.
- After George’s body was found, John became a suspect and his father offered to meet him and give him money however he was working with law enforcement and John was arrested.
- George’s body was not stabbed once.
- The autopsy showed he was stabbed over 50 times in the neck and torso, his feet were bound, and he had defensive wounds.
- After tests were completed no cocaine was found in John or George.
- John was charged with second-degree murder and tried as an adult. The first trial resulted in a mistrial.
- In 2011, he had a retrial and was convicted. He was sentenced to 25 years to life.
Kenneth S. Bartley Jr., 15 years old
- On November 8, 2005, Kenneth walked up to school with a .22-caliber handgun under a napkin and was confronted by principal Gary Seale, assistant principal Ken Bruce, and assistant principal Jim Pierce.
- He opened fire wounding all three and assistant principal Ken Bruce died of critical injuries.
- He is quoted saying to the principal "Yes, it's real. I'll show you. I never liked you anyways“ before he opened fire.
- On April 10, 2007 Kenneth plead guilty to a single count of second-degree murder and two counts of attempted second-degree murder.
- He attempted to withdraw his guilty plea but the judge rejected that and he was Sentenced to 45 years in prison on April 10, 2007.
Alyssa Bustamante, 15 years old
- In Missouri 9 year old Elizabeth Olten was walking home from a friends house when she was attacked.
- Alyssa attacked her by slitting her throat and stabbing her before burying Elizabeth in a grave that was pre-dug in the woods.
- At trial it became known that Alyssa has psychological problems, troubled family life, and had attempted suicide.
- In her diary she wrote: "I just f**king killed someone. I strangled them and slit their throat and stabbed them now they're dead. I don't know how to feel atm. It was amazing.“
- She was tried as an adult and sentenced to life in prison.
Sam Manzie, 15 years old
- Eddie Werner was raising money by selling items for the PTA and knocked on the wrong door.
- Sam lured him to his bedroom and murdered him.
- First he raped the young boy, he strangled him with an alarm clock cord and, stuffed his body into a suitcase.
- Sam then took the suitcase out to a wooded area close to his home.
- The murder occurred three days after Sam's parents unsuccessfully sought to have a judge commit him to a mental institution because of erratic behavior.
- He was sentenced to a 70-year prison term on April 14, 1999.
- Sam is guilty of his crime however this was sadly a learned behaviour.
- Sam was a victim of a child abuser named Stephen Simmons.
- The two had meet online and then in person at hotels for sexual favours. They also sent photographs of sex acts to each other.
- Stephen Simmons faced sexual assault charges for his relationship with Sam.
Luke Mitchell, 15 years old
- Luke and Jodi meet up sometime after 6:30PM on June 30, 2003, and Jodi never came home.
- Around 10:30PM her parents reported her missing and Luke helped search for her.
- He discovered her body stripped of her clothing, bound, and her body mutilated on a path that ran from her home in Easthouses to Mitchell’s home in Newbattle.
- Luke was a suspect at the very beginning but it took police months to gather evidence.
- He was found guilty and sentenced to a minimum of 20 years before he would be eligible for parole.
Daniel Bartlam, 14 years old
- While his mother was sleeping Daniel struck her 7 times with a clay hammer and then set her body on fire.
- He reported to police that a burglar had broke in and killed his mother.
- The detectives believed Daniel’s story was inconsistent so they searched his computer. They found a deleted story Daniel had written detailing the murder.
- No motive is known.
- His mothers former boyfriend said that he enjoyed violent video games and movies.
- He was sentenced to a minimum of 16 years in prison.
Michael Carneal, 14 years old
- On December 1, 1997 Michael went to school with a rifle wrapped in a blanket.
- He was also carrying a loaded .22 pistol.
- After arriving at school he put ear plugs in his ears and began firing, killing 3 female students (later in hospital) and wounding 5 others.
- He fired 8 rounds in quick succession at a youth prayer group.
- Once he was done shooting he dropped his guns and surrendered to the principle.
- He asked the principle to kill him.
- One was the girls killed was a friend of his named Nicole Hadley.
- Michael was the victim of bullying.
- Students would say they would get "Michael germs“ from him and would steal his lunch.
- His name was once printed in a school gossip paper claiming he had feelings for another male students and was often called homophobic slurs.
- Students putt frog parts on his shoulder during dissection class.
- Michael has claimed that in seventh grade, he contemplated suicide and a year before the shooting, he sliced his arm with a sewing needle when he tried to make new friends with a group of kids of ended up teasing him.
Barry Dale Loukaitis, 14 years old
- On February 2, 1996, at the Frontier Middle School, Barry took his algebra class hostage killing two students, a teacher, and critically injured another student.
- He came to school dressed like a gunslinger from the Wild West in a black duster, and armed with a .30-30 caliber rifle, a .357 caliber pistol and a .25 caliber pistol that belonged to his father.
- The hostage taking lasted 10 minutes and then a gym coach was able to out-wit Barry and end it.
- Barry had a history of mental illness and had a dysfunctional family.
- Possible influences: Pearl Jam’s song and video “Jeremy.” and a Stephen King novel entitled Rage. Both depict violence in the classroom.
Joshua Phillips, 14 years old
- Maddie Clifton left her house at 5:30 to play basket ball and never came back home.
- According to Joshua: He had been playing basket ball with her and he had accidentally hit her with the ball making her cry. To make her stop crying and screaming he hit her in the head.
- A week later Joshua’s mother found Maddie’s body under his bed because he had carried Maddie to his house after hitting her.
- He also hit her and stabbed her while at his home before hiding her body.
- Joshua helped look for Maddie before the discovery of her body.
- He was charged with first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Lionel Tate, 14 years old
- Lionel’s mother was babysitting Tiffany and brought her over to her home one evening.
- She left the two kids downstairs to watch TV and around 10pm she had to yell for the kids to be quite but did not check on them.
- 45 minutes later Lionel called out to his mother that Tiffany was not breathing stating they were play wresting and she hit her head while he had her in a head lock.
- The extent of her injuries were: death was due to forceful stomping that lacerated Tiffany’s liver, a fractured skull and rib, swelling in the brain, and 35 other injuries.
- Lionel later admitted to jumping on Tiffany from the staircase.
- He was sentenced to life in prison without parole but that was over turned on 2001 because he wasn’t given a mental competency hearing.
- He was released in 2004 with 10 years’ probation.
Andrew Wurst , 14 years old
- On April 24, 1998, Andrew walked into a graduation dance being held for Parker Middle School in Edinboro, Pennsylvania, USA and stared shooting.
- He killed a teacher, John Gillette and wounded 3 other people; another teacher and two students.
- He showed up late to the dance with his father’s .25 caliber pistol.
- Andrew left a suicide note that implied he only intended to kill himself at the dance.
- The owner of the restaurant the dance was being held at detained Andrew and held him down until police arrived.
- He plead guilty in a plea bargain to third-degree murder and attempted murder to avoid trial, but was sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison.
Eric Smith, 13 years old
- On August 2, 1993 in Steuben County, New York Eric lured 4 year old Derrick Robie into an isolated parked.
- Eric chocked him, dropped large rocks on his head, and sodomised him with a stick.
- This was Derricks first time walking alone to summer camp.
- Eric confessed to the crime soon after the murder.
- He was sentenced to a minimum of 9 years in prison.
- It is known that Eric was bullied as a child.
- He has been diagnosed with 'intermittent explosive disorder‘.
- As of April 2014: Eric has been denied parole 7 times.
